For approximately 30 years in the NEC Corporation research laboratories, his research area covers such as semiconductor nano processing, surface-emitting lasers, optical interconnections (analog ICs, transceivers, communication logic ASICIs), fabric networks, computer hardware, cloud systems, and mobile network systems. Additionally, He was involved in founding the ExpEther Consortium and participated in IEEE802.3ae (10G Ethernet) standardization. As a research leader, he worked on some network and cloud research projects for the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, and NEDO.
During the time, collaborative research was conducted with research institutions such as the University of Tokyo, Keio University, Osaka University, Hyogo Prefectural University, and Hirosaki University. At Keio University, He served as a visiting professor, overseeing corporate courses, and also worked as a special researcher.
From April 2016 to March 2021, he was stationed at Osaka University as the head of the High-Performance Computing System Architecture Research Division, focusing on the secure staging systems and the application of AI. In the field of AI researc, he collaborated with organizations such as the Okinawa Churaumi Foundation, the Mainichi Shimbun, Osaka University Dental Hospital, and the School of Medicine’s Sports Medical Department. Additionally, he founded a startup to implement research outcomes in society. Since 2021, He has continued as a guest professor, contributing to research of the Edge Micro Data Center, and also, has a lecture.
From April 2024, He is engaged in computer system and AI application studies in the newly established Information Design Department at Notre Dame Seishin University."
