additional considerations when editing

Trimming / editing for content

Trimming is the process of removing content from the beginning or end of an audio file. This form of editing is common to remove audio recorded during the setup, checking of volume levels, and sounds created when beginning and ending the recording. Audio files can also be split and sections removed to eliminate unwanted sounds like coughs or external noises. This process can also be used to remove sections to improve the flow of the conversation or to meet a time limit.

music and sound effects

The editing phase is when music and sound effects are added to the recording. Music can be used to open or close podcast episodes as well as transition between sections. Sound effects and ambient sound can also be added to add environment to recorded episodes.
