The photo on the left is a scan of what is presumed to be a recap of the 1959 Lynhcburg College Baseball season. In said recap, it. includes a photo of all the players, with their names, as well as some other statistics from the season, including the win-loss streak. The reason this was necessary to include was because the photo includes both Mr. Bennett and Dr. Fox, which was one of the primary sources. Having this let's us see what Jesse Bennett looks like and what the average Lynchburg team looked like.
This photo is an up close and personal shot of him performing a pushup. This photo went along with a story that was published in the local paper at the time. The reason I included this photo was because it really helps showcase the fun personality Dr. Fox brought to the Lynchburg College community.
The photo above is of William Shellenberger (left) and Dr. James Fox (right). The photo was used in an article to help with the announcement of William Shellenberger as the new College Athletic Director, taking over for Dr. Fox. This is important to include because it helps prove the point that Dr. Fox really did a lot within the school, he did not just hold one position on the staff during his time here.
The photo above is of Stephen H. Wentworth, Dr. James Fox, and Dr. Carey Brewer (left to right) chatting while at the LC Trustee-Faculty Dinner. The photo was published in THE NEWS, a local paper, on May 13, 1979. The importance of this photo is to help demonstrate how well respected Dr. Fox was amongst his fellow peers and colegues.
The above photo is of C. L. Hoskins, F. F. Bullock, J. C. Clarke, John M., and Dr. James Fox and was published in the The Critograph, the college's student publication. In the photo, C. L. Hoskins is handing over the keys to the dual-control car to be used in the Lynchburg College Driver Education Course. This was important becaue Dr. Fox was the first teacher certified in Virginia to teach drivers training, furtherin how much of a pioneer he was.
