Calling all 5th grade creative types. You're invited to participate in the 10th Annual Cover Contest for the Lydiksen Yearbook. Flex your right brain and show us what you've got! You can design the 2022 yearbook cover.

Design Prompt:

After a year apart, our 2022 yearbook theme is Together We Grow! Design a yearbook cover that celebrates how Lydiksen Lancers came together this year to be safe, respectful, and responsible and your artwork can be the face of this year’s yearbook!

Submission Rules:

• Submission date/method: FRIDAY, JAN 21st.

• Use a 8.5" x 11" sheet of white, blank paper.

• Vertical (portrait) orientation.

• Put your name and your class teacher's name in pencil on the BACK of the sheet.

Essential ART Requirements:

• Must say "Lydiksen Elementary" and "2021 - 2022" bold and clear on the front cover.

• Vertical (portrait) orientation.

• Must be hand made by a 5th grade Lydiksen student(s). (No computer-generated artwork will be considered.)

• Must address the design prompt.

• Do not add text close to the edge of the page. Leave 1" of space around the edges (for text). This is to make sure any text/drawing detail does not get cut off when it is printed on the cover. PLEASE NOTE: You should extend the background color to the edge of the page, just not the drawing or text.

• Avoid uncolored white space.

Tips for a Winning Entry:

• Don't forget the theme, and be creative!

• Use lots of color, including the background.

• Mix up your medium, use crayons, watercolors, markers, pastels, etc. If using color pencils, make sure your colors are bright enough to print well.

• Make sure your text is bold, dark and clearly readable for it to print well.

• Use up the whole sheet of paper.

• Double Check Spelling, Always!
