As I get to know your student, I am sure you are curious about who they are working with! To help with this, below are some fun facts about me:
I grew up in Agoura Hills and attended Willow, Lindero, and Agoura High. My parents still live up the street from Willow so you may see us eating at Basta, Plata or Lure Fish House. Please stop by and say hi if you do!
Speaking of food, I am a huge foodie and I am always researching and trying new restaurants.
I earned my bachelors degree in psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder (go Buffs!) and my masters degree and PPS credential in school counseling from California Lutheran University.
After receiving my bachelors degree, I gained experience in the corporate world by working in sales and marketing. I later realized I had a calling for school counseling and decided to change careers. This was the best decision I ever made as I truly love my job! Because of this, I will always encourage students to follows their dreams, but emphasize that it's okay if their dreams change as well as to never stop dreaming.
My first counseling position was at AE Wright Middle School which is where I was working prior to joining Willow. From this experience, I am familiar with the challenges that middle schoolers face and my goal is to ensure your child is prepared to face them when the time comes!
When I am not working, I am spending time with my husband and our furbaby, reading a suspenseful/thriller book, or enjoying the latest tv show on Netflix.
