Ms. Spindler :)
School begins at 8:00, but strive to line-up by 7:55.
Early dismissal Wednesdays- Students can be picked up at 12:10 or stay for lunch and be picked up at 12:35. It is not a rolling dismissal. Please be sure your child knows their lunch and pick-up plan each day. If they take the bus, it leaves at 12:35.
On non-Wednesday days, pick up is at 2:11. If students have older siblings, they can wait at the Sibling Club after school on the Yard until 2:38 when the upper grades are dismissed.
2nd graders are picked up and dropped off at the Front Drop Off Loop. Students with younger siblings should be dropped off and picked up at the youngest siblings' loop. Students are expected to be seated on the grass in our designated class spot.
Remember to send your child to school with a water bottle each day. Please be sure it has a secure lid. They can refill at the water bottle refill stations. Clearly labeling water bottles, lunch boxes, backpacks, and jackets with names is highly recommended! :)
In addition, please send a healthy snack to eat at the beginning of recess each day!
All students can receive lunch and/or breakfast free of charge each day.
If students are eating breakfast at school, please bring them early enough to finish eating and be lined up by 8:00.

CCC Language Arts program. We will be focusing on becoming better readers and writers this year! Help your child to build reading and writing stamina at home as we are in class. Also, encourage your child to find "good-fit" books by checking that they can read most of the words on a page in the book they are reading. We also teach kids to check for understanding by answering the questions Who? and What? after each page. They will have a weekly Reading Log that will need to be turned in each Monday with parent signatures. We also have a printing practice component to our curriculum.
I-Ready Math- We have a brand new comprehensive math program schoolwide this year! We are very excited for students to have the opportuninty to learn math concepts through discovery, critical thinking, and discussion. It includes an individualized MyPath component for students to practice their skills weekly.
