Week of 8/31:
Thank you SOOOOO much for being so thoughtful on my birthday, and thank you so much for the generous class gift, and individual gifts. It really made me feel so special and warmed my heart. 50 is crazy! :-O
The volunteer list for the year can be found here. Please let me know asap if a day/time does not work for you so I can fix it and send a new one out. I tried to give everyone at least one job (that wanted one!). It is up to you to know which week is yours, and which week is your parter's (that you will be switching off with every other week). If you can't make it, please send out a message asking for a sub. Thank you! All info is in the link (2 pages).
ANY volunteers who want to volunteer on campus (classroom, art, library) and during field trips need the following:
Confidentiality Form (to be completed yearly)
TB Assessment Form(valid for four years): MUST be completed with their own healthcare provider
For returning parent volunteers who are unsure if their TB Assessment is still valid, please instruct them to check with Milka, Health Clerk at mdemira@lvusd.org .
Thank you to all who attended Back to School Night last week. Here is the link to the slides if you missed. Back to School Night slides 2026/27
We will not start baggie books this week, but they will be coming home the week of 9/8. Please remember to sign the bookmark each night. Please return homework packet and word books on Friday. Love letters are due this Wednesday, 9/2 (if possible).
Please remember to practice following 2-3 step directions at home to improve listening skills at school. Thank you for the support!
Scholastic News donation letters will come home tomorrow in Back and Forth folders. I added my venmo for an easier route (for those that prefer- thank you for your $15 donations!) Much appreciated. Venmo link
Thank you so much to Penn's family, Noam's family, and Dara's family for donating items from my Amazon wishlist! It is much appreciated. I will add items as needed throughout the year and I am so appreciative of all of your contributions. No pressure at all!
We do journal writing in class every Monday morning. Please talk to your kids on the way to school on Monday and discuss what they might write about today in their journals. They will choose ONE thing they did over the weekend to write about (if they stayed home they can write about that too!) Kids tend to forget what they did over the weekend by Mondays, so this will really help.
Scholastic book order magazines will come home tomorrow for the month of September. It is completely optional to purchase books for your kids each month. Scholastic Book orders can be placed at any time during the month at Scholastic.com Our class code is NC9QC to get bonus points for our classroom.
We have PE on Mondays and Fridays, so please make sure students have a water bottle and appropriate shoes on those days.
Wishlists- I had the incorrect link for my Teachers Pay Teachers fund last week, so if you are able to donate, I have attached the link below. ANY amount helps! Thank you so much.
TeachersPayTeacher's ( I have updated the link for our current class). Thank you so much for contributing to TpT, which is a website I use frequently to purchase fun learning activities for our class!
