All school policies are detailed here in the Student Handbook for 2025-26.
Independent reading helps the development of many kinds of many academic skills. Students are encouraged to read at least 30 minutes each day outside of school hours.
All A.E. Wright students participate in WARP, our independent reading program.
Students choose a book that is appropriate for their reading level (check book levels using arbookfind.com). Books used for WARP must be appropriate for your reading level. We will go over what this means in class.
WHEN YOU CHOOSE A BOOK TO READ, complete a WARP form and turn it in to your cohort's inbox in class. I will return the slip with my signature if I approve of your reading choice.
Once you are finished reading the book, resubmit the WARP slip to show that you are ready to take the WARP test in the A.E.W. Media Center.
You must take your physical ID card to the Media Center to take the test and pass at least two tests with a score of 70% or above each quarter.
Don't wait until the last minute!
