At Chaparral we love to celebrate!  Throughout the year we have a variety of parties where parents can volunteer.  Some of these parties include:  Halloween, Winter Holidays, Valentine's Day and the end of the year party.  

If your child has a birthday during the school year we will celebrate in class with lots of fun, and we have an end of the year party for birthdays during the summer.  Your student will receive a class gift, a hat and the birthday song.  In second grade we do not allow food or passing out goodie bags for birthday celebrations.  Goodie bags can be distracting to the class, tricky with allergies, and create extra plastic waste.   To keep things simple, fair, and environmentally friendly- the second grade team appreciates that no goodie bags or food is brought in for birthdays!
