Welcome!

It's hard to believe but this is my 17th year at Chaparral Elementary, and 25th year in the Las Virgenes School District.   I'm am thrilled to be teaching second grade again this year.  It is the best grade.  Every day is an exciting day of learning and  fun adventure.

Prior to  becoming a teacher at Chaparral, I was a high school librarian at Calabasas High School for eight years. I have also taught in the Conejo Valley and was a school librarian in Burlingame in the Bay Area.

I grew up in Thousand Oaks, graduating from Westlake High School. I've lived all over California and for a few years in Utrecht, the Netherlands, before coming back home to Southern California.  I received my bachelors degree from San Diego State University, my teaching credentials from Cal Lutheran University and I received my masters degree from UCLA.  When I'm not at school, I love swimming, reading, hiking, tide-pooling, collecting rocks, and watching my husband cook.  My husband Eric is an amazing  high school Special Education teacher and my son is a graduate of University of Colorado in Boulder and now works as a journalist.

Chaparral is an amazing school. I feel fortunate to work with my fantastic team and to be a part of the CUBS community.

It's a great day to be a CUB!
