Hoopla

Check out Hoopla! Video streaming of videos, ebooks, music and more.Checkouts are for three days to watch and/or download.  To log in, enter your email address and pick a password of your choice.   LVUSD students can use their student ID number as their library card number. You have 10 credits to use per month for ALL types of formats on hoopla.

ABC Clio

ABC-Clio Provides digital resources for patrons, educators, and students on complex topics at the secondary and collegiate level.  For Public Library access, ask your Media Center Coordinator for the LVUSD login credentials.  Select the database that you want to search at the bottom on the screen.  Available databases include American History, World History Ancient and Medieval Eras, World History Modern Era and Daily Life through History.


Alexander Street

Streaming video, audio, and text library databases that promote research, teaching, and learning across disciplines, including music, counseling, history, business and more.


Britannica School 

is the go-to site for learning more about any subject—for all grades and all reading abilities—offering thousands of up-to-date, curated, and curriculum-relevant articles, images, videos, audio clips, primary sources, maps, research tools, recommended Websites, and three separate databases—Elementary, Middle, or High.

Also available in Spanish.

 Scholarly resources on JSTOR include Archival and Current   Journals, Books, and Primary Sources.  Password information can be found in your school library.


ArtStor has now migrated into JStor, so using the same login info as JStor, you can access all of the resources you used to at Art Stor.

Pro Quest


Use this link for SCHOOL ACCESS.  ProQuest Central is a multidisciplinary resource that brings together many of ProQuest’s most important, complete databases in science, technology, education, social sciences, humanities, and news. This database solves the problem of preparing students for college level academics by giving them access to a variety of sources, types of content, and multiple subjects using an interface that is widely used in higher education and prep school



Sirs Issue Researcher provides background and current analysis necessary for the research and understanding of 350+ current and pervasive Leading Issues. Analysis and opinions cover the pros, cons, and everything in between on the most researched and debated social issues. Issues are organized from major topical areas into Leading Issues, and then broken down to Pro/Con subtopics.

Gale In Context: Environmental Studies -- Broadens student understanding of environmental issues that affect people globally through topic overviews, journals, news, and multimedia content.

Gale Literary Sources integrates full-text literary content with metadata and subject indexing and provides workflow tools to analyze information. You can research authors and their works, literary movements and genres. Search across your library's Literature databases to find full text of literary works, journal articles, literature criticism, reviews, biographical information and overviews.



General Reference Center Gold provides access to magazines, newspapers, trade publications, and reference books through one easy interface. This general interest database offers the latest content covering current events, popular culture, business and industry trends, the arts and sciences, sports, hobbies, and more.


In the Health and Wellness Center, find alternative medicine-focused magazines, journals, newspaers, definitions, directories, videos, & reference information on: Medicine, Nutrition, Diseases, Public Health, Pregnancy, Herbal remedies, etc. Included are links to diet, cancer, health assessment sites & government databases.  Spanish-language videos are available. The material contained in this Resource Center is intended for informational purposes only.


 Opposing Viewpoints in Context is an engaging online experience for those seeking contextual information  and opinions on hundreds of today's hottest social issues. Drawing on the acclaimed Greenhaven Press  series, the solution features continuously updated viewpoints, topic overviews, full-text magazines,  academic journals, news articles, primary source documents, statistics, images, videos, audio files and links       to vetted websites organized into a user-friendly portal experience.

Learning Express offers help with test prep including AP Exams, SAT, ACT and GED.  It includes practice  drills, lessons and study guides.  You must create a username and password to use this system.

Gale Courses offer a wide range of free online classes, led by expert instructors. Courses run for six weeks and new sessions begin every month.  Check out the courses on SAT and ACT prep.


LinkedIn Learning for Libraries provides access to over 17,000+ professionally produced video tutorials for Business, Creative, Technology and more.  Additionally, LinkedIn Learning is available in 7 different languages, and can be access via desktop computers and mobile devices through apps in the App Store and Google Play.  Any California resident with a Calabasas Library card in good standing can sign up for an account.  This is managed by the California State Library with funding coming from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the American Rescue Plan Act.
