Calculator Policy

Scientific and/or graphing calculators are permitted on some homework and SOME exams.

Due to the capabilities of the scientific and graphing calculators as well as the programs available, students may not be permitted to use scientific and/or graphing calculators on some exams because students’ ability to solve problems and not their ability to use the calculator is being tested.

Students will be informed in advance about a non-calculator test/exam.

It is the students’ responsibility to secure the appropriate calculator for an exam.

Some courses require the use of a scientific calculator. The easiest and most appropriate calculator is the TI-30X IIS.

This calculator is endorsed by the CHS Math Department.
