Although the Internet is filled with resources, finding RELIABLE resources is hard work! Databases help to take some of the "guess work" out of research. The resources available in databases tend to be scholarly in nature, so you can be more trusting of their reliability. Do pay attention to the type of resource you are considering, though. Is it an academic journal? A news site? An encyclopedia?
