Students continue to learn:
Welcome to STEAM Pioneers!
We are a passionate group of 3rd- 8th graders at Mable Barron who meet Thursdays after school
to study mathematical and scientific principles:
Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math
We study, problem solve, and practice teamwork.
We think hard, question, and seek solutions.
We are independent and hard-working,
thoughtful and collaborative.
We get support in our math homework so that we can use these math skills to perform complicated tasks in math problem solving, science and engineering. We find patterns and recognize how parts form wholes so that art becomes part of what we see in the world- and we can create our own art.
In November we formed our small teams of 2-6 students for Science Olympiad. Students chose their topic from the list below and are meeting with their small team to study, build or do. Our Wednesday Sessions will be focused on understanding and using math, art, engineering, technology and science.
Our studies each week will prepare us for success in our daily science and math academics and many of our students will go on to compete in the County Science Olympiad all day on March 11th.
Thank you!
