STEAM Pioneers

STEAM PIONEERS,

You studied, built, and did great STEAMs for this year's Science Olympiad. You were gracious contestants, with excellent sportsmanship. We left no trace ~ only the resonating feeling of growth in the hearts and minds of all whom we encountered at McNair. You are a fun bunch of engineers!

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is is too late to join STEAM Pioneers?

No, it's never too late. You just need to use your skills of independence, making observations and collaborating, to make sure you learn the details we've already learned before you came.

Can my little siblings come to STEAM?

Only if they are helping further our knowledge and skills. If they are working hard on their own homework or observing your team patiently, they are welcome to be here supporting STEAM.

Do we get snacks?

Yes, every Wednesday you get to choose one snack. These are donated by families in STEAM. Please bring snack for about 20 people for one session. You can bring it to room 7 or drop off in the office anyday and we will serve them or store them for a week we need snack. Good ones: (Granola bars, Cliff Bars, Trail Mix Packets, Fruit snacks, grapes, Cheese Its in snack bags, goldfish, anything fresh off your trees...)

How much do parents need to help?

Great question! We succeed the most when parents can coach each week- choose an event that interests you and come every Wednesday to coach 4 kids to 1st place! But we realize that life is busy, your child is welcome to participate no matter how much you can help. If time doesn't allow you here from 2:30-3:30, please donate snack and plan to help out on Saturday March 9th. THANK YOU!
