Honor Band

Through the performance of quality band literature, students will continue to develop instrumental techniques and related skills needed to be a contributing member of the Lincoln Band. Continuing the tradition of musical excellence, Lincoln Band members have opportunities to prepare audition recordings, and when accepted, will participate in honor bands at the county, region and state level.

San Joaquin County Honor Band

Students will prepare required scales and musical excerpts and record using a computer or cell phone.  Recorded Audition files must be shared with band directors prior to due date and turned in by October 17, 2025, no exceptions. Once accepted to the honor band, students will have a series of mandatory rehearsals (November 13, 2025 & January 8-10, 2026) in preparation for the concert on January 10, 2026. Live auditions, rehearsals and concert are at Delta College.

All Northern California Honor Band

$50 per student recording submission

Students will prepare required scales and musical excerpts and record using a computer.  Recorded Audition files (flash drive, file sharing, CD) must be shared with band directors prior to due date and postmarked by December 1st 2025, no exceptions. Once accepted to the honor band, students will have a series of mandatory rehearsals (February 20-22 for concert bands, February 19-21 for jazz) in preparation for the concert in the afternoon of February 22, 2026 (Jazz Concert is February 21, 2026).  Live auditions, rehearsals and concert are at The University of the Pacific.

October 15, 2025 - High School students (grades 9-12)

November 3, 2025 - Junior High School students (grades 7-8)

Students will prepare required scales and musical excerpts and record using a computer.  Recorded Audition files (flash drive, file sharing, CD) must be shared with band directors prior to due date and postmarked by date above, no exceptions. Once accepted to the honor band, students will have a series of mandatory rehearsals in preparation for the concert on February 18, 2026.  Live Auditions, Rehearsals and Concert are in Sacramento, CA (January 15-18, 2026).  Once accepted, information regarding housing and meals will be provided by the California Band Director Association.
