When the United States has permanently closed all of its borders to immigration and has expelled all "nonnatives" from the country in a furor of Nationalism and Isolationism, California and Texas will secede from the union to form their own independent nations.

As Calexit and Texexit occur, what happens to the farmers who are left without the migrant day laborers they have come to depend on? They are free to sign up for the new Federally Subsidized Cloning Program to have low intelligence copies of themselves made. But are these new clones just workers? Slaves? Pets? Family? Or something else entirely different...
