Welcome To Lumpkin County Middle School's 8th Grade Georgia Studies Webpage!

As a Social Studies department, Mr. Murray, Mrs. Caine, and Mr. Adams have created this webpage to provide our students with the resources needed to be successful throughout this year. We are committed to providing a valuable education to young people who have a desire to better themselves. Please navigate through this site using the tabs at the top of the screen. Each tab contains unit powerpoint presentations, helpful videos, and slotted notes that will greatly benefit you. We are looking forward to this school year, and GO INDIANS!

We did not write the article below, but we feel that it may help our students understand the value of learning about history. Unfortunately, many students do not feel that social studies is relevant to their lives. We would argue that studying history helps us understand people and societies, assists in developing a personal identity, promotes good citizenship, and reveals how the world around us operates.
