A great way to practice your phonics sounds is to look up "Jolly Phonics songs" on youtube. Each song has a known tune and an action to go alongside it.
Sight words are words that you want to know just by looking at them and not needing to stretch them out. Below are some lists of sight words specific to each reading level (up to green).
Make a set of cards with some key words on it.
Hang up two sight words and race your child across the room to read the sight word in "your lane".
Go on a sight word Scavenger hunt by hiding words around the house.
Play Sight Word War - each player turns over a sight word and whoever reads the sight word first wins both cards.
Make a Bingo board with the sight words. Play Bingo.

Make two sets of cards and play go fish.
Make a Tic Tac Toe board and each have a word as your marker.
Flashlight words - tape the words up on the ceiling and turn off the lights. Use the flashlight to read the words.
Make the words using play-dough.
