Sports Health

(7th Grade Elective)

This class will provide students with information regarding safety in middle school sports, injury prevention and care, influences of professional athletes, sport psychology, and dangers of performance-enhancing substances.

It will help prepare student athletes for future success and provide an ability to learn about the important topics for middle school sports today.

Sports Health Pt.2

(8th Grade Elective)

A continuation of Sports Health (7th Grade Elective), this class will further provide students with information regarding safety in middle school sports, injury prevention and care, influences of professional athletes, sport psychology, and dangers of performance-enhancing substances.

Culture of Wellness

(8th Grade Elective)

A Culture of Wellness is a course designed for 8th graders that will provide students with the tools to positively impact lives and will prepare students with the necessary components to achieve lifetime health and wellness.

A Culture of Wellness will prepare students while instilling various coping and resistance methods in the areas of Cyber-Bullying, appropriate Social Media Etiquette, in-depth Drug Education, age appropriate Relationships, Dating and Human Sexuality.

This course also provides students with an early opportunity to obtain lifesaving skills by providing American Red Cross - CPR/AED and First Aid training.

This dynamic course will provide a concrete learning experience while allowing flexibility for students to share and grow as they highlight their attributes as a culture and valued members of the community.
