Warranty & Accidental Coverage

The devices are covered by the Manufacturer's warranty, which guarantees the Acer Chromebook C734 will be free from defects in materials and workmanship thru July 2026. During the Limited Warranty Period, Acer will provide replacement parts to the LTPS Tech Department necessary to repair the device.  Our building technicians will make the necessary repairs and issue a loaner Chromebook while the student device is being fixed.

The device also comes with accidental coverage in addition to the Manufacturer's warranty.  Accidental damage is covered by Acer Educare™, which safeguards against accidents, such as unintentional liquid spills, drops, falls and/or other collisions.  In the case of accidental damage, Acer Educare™ covers the cost of only ONE repair per year for accidents.  Parents and students will be responsible for the cost of repairing the equipment beyond the one accidental repair per year (costs listed below.)  Parents and students will also be responsible for the cost of repairing the equipment in the case of intentional misuse or abuse.  If it is determined that damage is caused by intentional misuse or abuse, those students may also be subject to additional discipline by school administrators.

Acer Educare™ also includes premium battery support, which  provides a replacement battery once a year during thefour-year total protection upgrade warranty period with a maximum of three additional batteries during the coverage period.

Finally, in addition to being issued a Chromebook, each student will also be issued an "always on" case to help protect the device from accidental drops.  The Belkin Air Protect™ Always-On Slim Case has a durable exterior that protects 11-inch laptops and Chromebooks from heavy wear and tear, making it perfect for classrooms. Shock-absorbing stiffeners and padding on all six sides safeguard the device against accidental damage from drops and dings.  The Air Protect™ Always-On Slim Case has been designed to allow laptops or Chromebooks to be used while in the protective case. Simply unzip to activate the device and obtain full access to the screen and ports. A molded elevated base delivers ventilation to help prevent overheating, even after hours of use. Micro-gel and screen clips hold the Chromebook securely in place, while allowing students to position the screen at multiple angles.
  

Students will be required to keep the case on the device at all times.  If the device is damaged and it is determined that it was not in it's protective case at the time, the damages will not be covered by the accidental coverage.
