Love, Ms. Moore
Over the summer I will post some fun books along with some fun craft activities that you can do with supplies you have at home!
Listen to Shark Lady by Jess Keating, illustrations by Marta Álvarez Miguéns, all about the true story of Eugenie Clark!
Then, watch the second video to learn how to draw your own shark! You will need:
paper (any kind will do)
Crayons, colored pencils, markers, chalk or pastels:
light blue or gray (or any color you want your shark's body to be)
black
dark blue (for the water)
medium blue and green (if you want to make waves in your ocean)
Listen to Ninja! by Arree Chung, all about the supplies and skills you need to become a ninja!
Then keep watching the video to create a kawaii panda! "Kawaii" means cute in Japanese. To make this panda you will need:
paper (any kind will do, even scrap paper)
a pencil & eraser
3 colored pencils, crayons, markers, chalk, pastels, paints (anything!) in black, gray and pink - or pick your own colors!
a green colored pencil, crayon, pastel (optional)
a black marker to outline (optional)
Listen to Hoot Owl, Master of Disguise by Sean Taylor, all about how Hoot Owl cures his hunger!
Then keep watching the video to create a collage owl. To make this owl you will need:
paper - one piece of solid paper
construction or colored paper (or paper from a magazine or newspaper) cut into: 2 large circles, 2 small circles, one square, one large triangle, a lot (at least 15) small triangles
a pencil and something round (like a cup) if you want to trace the circles before cutting (optional)
A black marker, pencil or crayon
glue, glue stick, or tape

If you were not able to watch the launch live, below is a recording.
