The STEM Academy is heavily run and organized by student officers who are carefully selected each year. Academy members have the opportunity to work alongside the officers and earn leadership experience via the many committees which plan the academy's events.
Career Night Committee
Once a year, LHS's STEM Academy gathers STEM professionals from all backgrounds to answer questions and spark interest of students looking to study in STEM fields after high school. Students part of this committee help organize this event called Career Night.
STEAM Committee
STEAM (Art integrated in STEM) is a year round committee involved in many visuals and decorations for the academy. They also host their own labs integrating Art with Sience, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
Scrapbook Committee
Members of the Scrapbook Committee attend meetings and especially events to photograph them. The photos are put together on a "Scrapbook" for memories.
STEMinars
Students and members of the academy will volunteer to give a seminar on a STEM related topic. These topics go beyond what the school curriculum teaches. It's a fun and interactive way to learn something new and quick!
