*World Book Online - A great tried and true resource for all middle and high school students. Lots of tools and resources. See Mr. Meier for shared login info to access.
*JSTOR - The premier college level database for academic journals, full-text books, magazine articles, research data, and more. Free for all Stowe students and staff anywhere in the building.
*National Archives - Independent US government agency charged with the documentation and preservation of gov't and historical records. There is A LOT to browse through here.
*World History Encyclopedia - A helpful non-profit online encyclopedia focused on world history and culture curated by Common Sense Media, OER Commons, School Library Journal, and dozens of universities.
*Smithsonian History Explorer - An online history encyclopedia developed by the Smithsonian Institute. Has some world history info, but mostly US history.
*New York Times - Free full access to NYT is available for all Stowe students and staff at home and in the building. See Mr. Meier for how to get your account set up!
*VTOL - Vermont Online Library. A source for K-12 resources in all subject areas curated by VT Dept. of Libraries.
*GALE - Online database of textbooks and other full-text literature. Decent selection but not enormous. Free access in VT provided by VT Dept. of Libraries.
*Library of Congress - US govt research library that serves as the main library and research service for the US Congress. There is A LOT of content and is free to the public.
*Nat Geo Education - One of the most highly regarded non-profit science, history, and research organizations in the world. Use this search tool to browse articles and media.
*VT Newspapers of Record - A unique VT government curated resource with thousands of back issues of historical newspapers from around the state.
*Google Arts & Culture - A unique Google powered platform with hundreds of thousands of images and videos from partner museums and cultural organizations around the world.
*Google Scholar - A specialized version of Google search focused on helping researchers find scholarly journals and literature in all subject areas.

*Purdue OWL - Purdue University's Online Writing Lab is a resource with tons of helpful info about research methods, writing, citation, and more.
*Proquest Culturegrams - Lots of information and multimedia about geography and world cultures, countries, states, etc.
*VT PBS LearningMedia (teachers) - This is the teacher portal of Vermont PBS learning resources. Videos, lessons, info, and lots of tools for the classroom.
*VT PBS LearningMedia (students) - This is the student portal of Vermont PBS learning resources. Choose your grade level and browse interesting media that can be used for assignments in most subject areas.
*SI Learning Lab - An interactive online learning portal created by the Smithsonian Institute. Mostly centered around sciences, but there is social studies content as well.
*Stanford Highwire - Online database of scholarly journals curated by Stanford University. Mostly free. Be aware that some links require subscriptions or one-time payment to access articles or publications.
*Wolfram Alpha - One of the most unique search engines on the Internet that is technically a "computational knowledge engine." Really useful for math, science, and finding research data/facts. It's like an AI tool, but better!
