LSR7 will administer the NWEA Measures of Academic Progress Growth, or MAP Growth, assessments as part of a comprehensive assessment system 3 times per year (Fall, Winter, and Spring). NWEA MAP Growth is a nationally normed, standardized achievement test which measures what students know and informs what they're ready to learn next by using a computer adaptive test that adjusts to the ability and knowledge of the student. Your child's teacher will use the results of the NWEA MAP Growth assessments to better understand your child's individual needs and to help him/her progress in the assessed area. Because the assessment is a growth measure, it can track the growth of the student between testing events and over multiple years of testing.
The Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) assesses students’ progress toward mastery of the Show-Me Standards which are the educational standards in Missouri. The MAP exam is administered in early-mid April. Seventh grade students complete testing in language arts and math. Eighth grade students complete testing in language arts, math and science. Test results are returned approximately three months later and are disseminated to families via a post office mailing.
The MAP includes required End of Course (EOC) assessments in the subject area of Algebra I. The EOC exam is administered to 8th grade students enrolled in Algebra I in late April or early May.
Summit Lakes is sometimes selected by our federal government to have randomly selected 8th grade students participate in the National Assessment of Educational Progress exam (NAEP) . NAEP provides results for the nation as a whole in a variety of subjects and for the states individually in mathematics, reading, science, and writing. Performance reporting disaggregates groups of students by gender, by different racial and ethnic groups, and by participation in special programs among others.
