Grades are available for review online 24/7.
The grade book is set up in a Total Points format. There are no weighted grades
All assignments are due by their given deadline. Deadlines are key.
All video package assignments are worth 100 points each.
All missing assignments, regardless of the reason are marked missing in the gradebook. The gradebook counts missing assignments as a zero.
Students will receive a deduction of 10% from their assignment for each day the assignment is late, unless the student has arranged an alternative deadline with Mr. Payne due to the complexity of their project. (ex. person being interviewed cancelled last minute and caused the whole project to be delayed.)
All quizzes will be available in Schoology and have 3 re-takes. Get the score you want to reflect in the grade book.
No extra credit is offered during the course of the school year.
If a student is discovered to have plagiarized an assignment or copied another's work, they will receive zero credit for the assignment, parent contact home, and an office referral.
Any assignment can be redone IF that assignment was turned in by the given Deadline.
All parents have access to grades via the ParentConnect website.
Emails sent to Mr. Payne after 3:00 pm may not receive a response until the following school day.
All emails will be formatted as questions or no response will be given.
Emails will be courteous. If an email is discourteous it will be forwarded to PLMS Administration for a response.
Re-Doing assignments-
Assignments should be re-done if the student feels that the original assignment did not truly reflect their capabilities.
Library Media Center:
Voice Level 0. It is the student's responsibility to keep track of library materials checked out to them. Hallway: Voice Level 0, students are respectful and stay to the right side of the hall.
Student Planbook:
Students are expected to fill out their plan book each and every day. If there is no assignment, students are to write what was done in class that day.
Restroom use during class:
Students should use the restroom during worktime for class. Students will fill out their E-Pass, grab the restroom lanyard from the door, use a voice level 0 in the halls, proceed to the nearest restroom on the same floor as their class. Students will not congregate or socialize during restroom time.
Start of class:
When the bell rings, students are to be IN their assigned seats with voice level 0. The first 10 minutes of class are free-read time and students should begin reading with voice level 0 immediately.
Absences:
When a student is absent, excused or not, they are expected to ask for their missed work and assignments. Students will have 1 week from their absence to turn in missed work for credit. Students can find all missed worksheets and assignments in the file organizer at the back of the room. If there are no available copies of an assignment, students can ask for a copy to be made. If a student misses two or more consecutive days, Parents/Guardians can call the school and request missing work be collected to be picked up at the end of the second day.
Assignment Turn-In:
Students are to have their assignments ready to submit at the start of class. Late work will have a penalty of 10% per day late up to a maximum of 50% (5 DAYS). Students can earn full credit IF they redo their assignment within a week of receiving the
