Happening Now...

Press Boxes

With rebuilt support structures already completed, new press boxes are lowered into place at the Lenape and Cherokee turf fields! Final steps include electrical connection and sound system installation. Work is scheduled to be completed by September 1st.

HVAC Units

Crews use large cranes to place roof-top HVAC units above the woodshop and metal fabrication shop at Lenape High School. New classroom HVAC units are also being installed at all four schools. There are many areas and classrooms throughout each building that are now air conditioned spaces!

Shawnee HVAC Duct Work

A lot of the behind the scenes infrastructure work has been done. We are now starting to install the new HVAC duct work at some of our facilities for the gyms. Stay tuned for more updates as we gear up for a very busy summer.

Lenape Metalwork, Welding & Fabrication Center

The district’s METALWORK, WELDING & FABRICATION CAREER PATHWAY program at Lenape High School was completed in 2023. This state-of-the-art facility has a welding area and a metalworking area. The welding area has 10 welding booths where students have access to stick, mig, & tig welding as well as various power and hand tools. The metalworking side features 2 CNC lathes, 2 CNC mills, a 4 foot by 4 foot water jet and various fabrication tools.

Cherokee Construction Center

Work is complete in the new CONSTRUCTION, BUILDING & CARPENTRY CAREER PATHWAY program at Cherokee High School. Students have a construction area with over 20 foot ceilings, enabling them to build two-story structures! There is a large panel saw, various chop saws and an array of prefessional-quality tools. The space also has a wood floor where students can build a structure, disassemble it, and build again to the same floor.

Lenape NC Hall Window Replacement

Out with the old, in with the new. The installation of the new classroom windows at Lenape has begun. The original uninsulated units are being replaced with a double-pane, energy-efficient window wall system.

Shawnee Second Floor Window Replacement

Shawnee High School’s upstairs C-wing is currently getting brand new windows replacing the original windows which were installed more than 50 years ago.
