Ms. Dawn Stelly
PreK - 1st grade
Hi, I'm Ms. Dawn, counselor for PreK, Kindergarten and 1st grade. I have been a counselor at LPSS for the past fourteen years. I began working at MEMS three years ago. I graduated from ULL with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Counselor Education, with a concentration on School Counseling.
I love working at Milton for two reasons.
The first is the faculty. They are hard-working, dedicated and always go above and beyond in what they do for the students. I love walking into school in the morning and hearing everyone greeting the kids and making them feel welcome.
The second reason that I love Milton is the students. We have great kids who work hard, try hard, show compassion and make good choices.
My favorite coping skills are doing improv, swimming, walking and playing with my dog, listening to podcasts and spending time with my friends and family.
Please email me if you have a question or concern.
Hi there! I’m Ms. Ali. I am the lucky one, who gets to work with 2nd, 3rd & 4th grade teams. My philosophy is simple…
I believe every child longs to be loved and understood. I believe consistency & fairness go hand in hand.I believe we choose our actions & attitudes. I believe in admitting our mistakes and accepting consequences appropriately.
I believe in asking questions & asking for help. I believe respectful behavior must be modeled before it is expected. I believe most problems are more manageable after a good night's sleep.
I believe that weekends are sacred for family time & I believe that Oreos & chocolate milk are the best way to end each day.
Most importantly...I believe that education is one the highest calling & I’m grateful to be here at Milton. Thanks for letting me assist you in being your child’s cheerleader, motivator & confidant.

Hi, I’m Sarah Martin, and I’m proud to be starting my fourth year as a school counselor here at Milton and my eleventh year in the counseling profession. Supporting students socially, emotionally, and academically is truly my passion.
In 2023–2024, I was honored to be named the Louisiana State School Counselor of the Year, a recognition that reflects my passion for the students.
I’ve been married for six years and am a proud mom to two beautiful daughters—ages 1.5 and 4—who keep me on my toes! As a family, we love beach trips and making memories together.
I believe school should be a place that feels like home, and Milton is just that—welcoming, fun, and full of joy. One of my favorite parts of the day is car rider duty, where I get to greet our students with a smile and send them off with love.
Fun facts? I love to dance, laugh, and celebrate all things Mardi Gras—it’s my absolute favorite holiday!
Hi! I’m Mrs. Heather. I am the 7th & 8th grade counselor here at Milton. I am originally from the City of Central just outside of Baton Rouge, but I have lived in Acadiana for 12 years.
I graduated from LSU with both my Bachelors & Masters degrees. I was a teacher for 6 years (mostly middle school), and I have been a school counselor for 14 years. This is my 4th year at Milton.
I have been married for 19 years and have two sons who come to Milton, as well as a dog who does not (haha). I enjoy singing on our worship team at church, traveling, going to the gym, reading, and spending time with my family.
I also love what I do as a school counselor and feel like I was made to do this. I consider it an honor to walk with students through the tumultuous teen and preteen years of life and be a listening ear and encouraging voice through the ups and downs.
