Edison is a programmable robot that is a hands on resource for coding and robotics education.
Grades 4-6
Supported by Gr 5-6 Tech Force ~ All Elementary schools have 1 set
Using Edison helps to teach computational thinking and computer programming. It provides students instant feedback as they troubleshoot and test as they go. Younger students can use simple barcode programs, and older students can build and invent engineering projects with the use of Edison’s expandable robotics system. Regardless of age and ability, students will use critical thinking skills such as problem solving and trial and error.
Note: All elementary schools already have one set for Tech Force. Please check for school availability. More can be signed out through Tech Connect: Book This Out! There are also 3 EdCreate kits available for the advanced projects. Some schools have purchased these as well.

You will provide:
The booklets listed below for student use - depends on grade, experience etc
Chromebook for block coding robots
Computational Thinker
Students develop and employ strategies for understanding and solving problems in a ways that leverage the power of technological methods to develop and test solutions.
Students:
Formulate problem definitions suited for technology-assisted methods such as data analysis, abstract models and algorithmic thinking in exploring and finding solutions.
Collect data or identify relevant data sets, use digital tools to analyze them, and represent data in various ways to facilitate problem-solving and decision-making.
Break problems into component parts, extract key information, and develop descriptive models to understand complex systems or facilitate problem-solving.
Understand how automation works and use algorithmic thinking to develop a sequence of steps to create and test automated solutions.
