ELA Grading Policy

In Mrs. Armilio's ELA class, scores will be recorded for practices completed as well as assessments on the learning standards. Any practice that we do in class that is leading to the assessment will be scored as 10 points (weighted as 25% of grade for practices). Some practices will just be marked as completed (with a checkmark) to show the student did the work, but it will not receive a point score. Practices are all or nothing scores, so if a student doesn't complete the practice adequately, they won't receive the points until they retry. All assessments will be 100 points (75% of grade). Not everything will be counted as a practice, only those assignments that are to be done to show progress toward the learning goal and assessed target.
