School counselors support students in many ways. We see students for counseling. Sometimes, we meet with groups of students for a specific reason: anger, divorce, grief, friendship or study skills. At least once a month, we go into the each classroom to teach lessons about things like feelings, friendship, school, diversity, safety, and careers. Don't be worried about seeing your school counselor; the school counselor is there for every student.
The School Counseling Program at Manor Hill is based on the Missouri Comprehensive School Counseling Model and contains the following components.
Responsive Services
Consists of activities to meet immediate needs and concerns of students These needs might include any of the following services services:

Curriculum
Consists of lessons that facilitate academic and social development. These lessons are presented systematically through classroom and group activities in kindergarten through grade five. The curriculum is organized around the following categories:

Consists of management activities that establish, maintain, and enhance the total guidance program. This component is implemented and carried out through activities in the following areas:

Individual Planning
Consists of activities that help all students plan, monitor and manage their own learning as well as their personal and career development. Individual planning is implemented through such strategies as:

Liberty Public Schools' guidance program is implemented by certified school counselors with the support of teachers, administrators, parents, and the community.
