Plot Synopsis

Who is student filmmaker Vernon Triumph? Some say a visionary. Some say a madman. But he’s pretty convincing, so everyone from the volleyball team to the custodian gets involved in making his masterpiece, The Crane Man (an important, artistic film about a guy who gets bitten by a radioactive crane and becomes a superhero). The budget is zero, the cast and crew are clueless, and the whole production seems headed for disaster. But the rise and fall of Vernon Triumph just might turn out to be so silly it’s sublime.

VERNON TRIUMPH - a genius, also probably a little crazy. aka THE CRANE MAN

NAUTIKA - Vernon's best friend. A bit of a cynic. 

YULIA - nerdy, awkward, desperately in love with Vernon. 

DRE - a true believer. The person who makes it all happen. 

ELLA - a gamer. The cameraperson for the film.

ALISTAIR MOON - Vernon's rival

MRS. GABLE - a Science Teacher, a.k.a. MISS MANTIS SHRIMP in the film.

BERT - a custodian. Plays DR. ARTEMIS in the film.

LILITH - a weird kid. Plays AUNT MERLE in the film.

JAZMINE - a weird kid. Wears a beard to play UNCLE JOHN in the film.

EDDIE - a weird kid. Plays THE RADIOACTIVE CRANE in the film.

JONAS - a debate team member. Plays CHAMP TWOMBLEY in the film.
