I have a daughter in high school, named Mikaela, and a son in middle school, named Brady, who both passionately play competitive soccer. We have 3 dogs, a turtle and some fish. On the weekends, you can often find me watching my kids play soccer, hiking with the dogs, or reading a book. I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but have lived in Colorado for 22 years and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else!
Kathy Brewer
Hi! My name is Kathy Brewer and I am the ½ time special education teacher at Twain. I have taught in special education for 20 years. I started my special education career in Adams County 14 schools. I taught preschool special education for one year in this district. My second year I taught as a long term sub In Jefferson County Schools. Before I came to Twain this year, 16-17, I taught at East Elementary for 18 years in LPS as the special education teacher there.
I have two amazing children. Jennifer is 20 years old and currently attends CSU in Fort Collins. She is majoring in mechanical engineering. Tyler is 16 years old and attends Heritage High School as a sophomore. My husband Matt and I have been married for 5 years. As a family, we love to go camping and hiking and just love the outdoors.

I love my job! I love coming to work and seeing the daily steps of progress that our students make. I think that one thing that makes us unique is that we celebrate all things-both big and small. One of my favorite quotes is by Helen Keller. "I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great and noble." I believe that each thing we do each day makes a difference. Each day in my classroom is important.
I enjoy working with students both one on one and in small groups. We have great expectations for all of our students. We look at each child as a unique individual who is valued. We want to grow in all aspects of their lives. I want to see my students interact with their peers and become independent learners and communicators.
My family has lived in the Littleton area for 30 years. All of my children have attended Littleton Public Schools and their lives have each been enriched by their experiences in many ways. They have each graduated from college and gotten married. I now have five grandchildren! So much to celebrate!
Regan Kalahar
Hi, my name is Regan Kalahar but your children know me as Ms. K. I have been working in special education center programs for 9 years now and I'm excited to be at Twain. The community here is very welcoming and the school does a tremendous job working collaboratively to meet student's needs.
My daughter, Chloe, and I are so happy to have moved to Littleton and become part of the LPS community. We have 2 pets, a French Bulldog and a hedgehog. We previously lived in Denver but have also lived in Evergreen and Castle Rock. I grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania but have lived in Colorado for about 25 years so I almost feel like a native!
