About Our Learning This Year in Humanities:

We will uncover the past, discover who WE are, question the world around us and apply our knowledge to the future and all of its possibilities! Humanities is the study of humans - history, geography, civics, fiction, non-fiction, argument/debate and poetry! Using digital portfolios, you'll be able to collect the work you're most proud of, write, reflect and learn from all that you will create - preserving it to look back on for years to come!

More About Me:

I got married in October of 2019 in Golden, CO! My husband, Mike and I have a dog (Ricky) and a cat (Grizz). We live in the mountains near Red Rocks Park & Amphitheater - it's beautiful! We welcomed our first child, Quinn, on July 12, 2022!!

Certification:

I am certified in English Language Arts and Highly Qualified to teach Social Studies content (I took lots of Social Studies classes in college). Previously, I taught 8th grade Language Arts & Honors Language Arts for 8 years. I also taught 7th grade Social Studies for 7 years, before moving to 6th grade Humanities (Since 2021). I am a certified Yoga Instructor and use yoga and mindfulness as tools in class.

College:

I attended The University of Pittsburgh and earned an Undergraduate Degree in English Literature with a minor in Communications. Then, I continued my studies at Duquesne University where I earned my Master of Science in Education degree. So, yes - I LOVE SCHOOL and have dedicated my life to learning and teaching <3.
