About Mrs. Hon

Who is Mrs. Hon?

Welcome!

I grew up in Southern California, about 20 miles east of Los Angeles. When I was in 2nd grade, I had the most caring, patient, and inspiring teacher--and I knew teaching was exactly what I wanted to do as an adult. I received a B.A. from the University of La Verne, and an M.Ed. from Azusa Pacific University. I taught Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade in California for over 15 years, and have always enjoyed teaching reading. I took a few years off to be home with my children, then moved to Colorado in 2008. My family and I love it here!!

I have boy/girl twins who are 19 and are attending ACC. I also have an adult step-daughter who lives in CA with her husband and two young children. In my free time I enjoy going to concerts and musicals, hiking, playing board games with my family, being around furry animals, relaxing near any body of water...and of course READING!

I have worked as a substitute teacher and as an LSS para-professional in LPS prior to my current position as a Literacy Support teacher. This is my 4th year at Franklin, and I feel blessed to work within such a supportive and amazing community.
