¡Hola todos!
A bit about me:
I am a Denver Native (I know, we are rare these days.) I love: chocolate with caramel/dulce de leche, raspberries, mango, authentic street tacos, maté from a gourd, home-made guac, spicy hot sauce, a strong cappuccino and a good book, skiing, climbing, road biking, backpacking, listening to/playing music, foreign films, going to concerts, used book stores, traveling, photography, creative writing, salsa/Latin dance, hanging out with my family, practicing my Spanish, and any movie starring John Krasinski, Viggo Mortensen or Diego Luna (*sigh*).
I been lucky enough to travel to Perú, Chile (where I studied for a semester), Argentina, México, España and who knows where next! One of my greatest joys in life is helping others find their passions.
My first hope for my students is that they leave my classroom every day reminded that they are incredible humans who are loved and cared for. My second hope is that they are inspired to learn Spanish for Spanish's sake. Language is not about grammar; it is about connection. It is a living, breathing being that encompasses dance, music, food, history, and lore of all different shapes, sizes, and colors. One of my favorite sayings is: "Tener otro idioma es tener otro alma" To speak another language is to have another soul. This is truly my mission. I want to ignite my students with a desire to travel, see the world, expand their horizons beyond their wildest dreams, and to discover the second selves that they may never have known existed!
