Intro: In this unit we will do a brief survey on the history of the Middle East. We will study the empires of Mesopotamia, the Caliphate, Umayyads, Abbasids, Ottomans and the influence of European Empires. These empires had significant impacts on the historical narrative of the Middle East and have led to the contemporary successes and conflicts in the region.
