About Mrs. Kelso

A bit about me...

With over 20 years in education, my journey has been both diverse and fulfilling. I hold an Associate's Degree in General Studies, a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science with a minor in History, and a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology. I earned my teaching license through the esteemed Stanley British Teacher Prep Program in Denver, Colorado.

Throughout my career, I have taught a wide range of subjects to students primarily in 4th through 8th grades. My experience spans charter and private schools, where I have also led various K-8th grade classes and interventions. I spent six years as an assistant principal but ultimately returned to the classroom to reconnect with students on a daily basis, a decision that has reinvigorated my passion for teaching.

For the past 10 years, I have been dedicated to teaching 5th and 6th graders at LPCS, focusing on reading, writing, math, and science. This role has allowed me to witness firsthand the joy and growth of my students, making each day a rewarding experience.

On a personal note, I am married with two wonderful boys. Both boys attended LPCS, with one now at Heritage High School and the other embarking on his college journey. Outside of school, I cherish family time, especially when we are camping or hiking. My hobbies include reading, knitting, walking, and kickboxing, all of which keep me balanced and energized.
