About Mrs. Chase

Born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver, I grew up mostly in Aurora, Colorado, attending and graduating from Eaglecrest High School. I then followed in my parents' footsteps when I attended CU in Boulder, majoring in English Literature and Communication. I spent a few years as a computer programmer before I followed my true calling and went back to school for my teaching license and MA.  I worked at Ponderosa High School in Parker for two years before once again following footsteps and joining my dad, John Kron, at Littleton. He retired at the end of the 2015-16 school year after 42 years as an educator.

I got married in 2019, and I am a stepmom to two children who are both part of the LHS family as a freshman and a junior. Family is important to me, and I love spending time with my husband, stepkids, my parents, my siblings, and my many nieces and nephews. I am proud to be both an LHS teacher and an LHS parent!

Another great source of happiness outside of school is my dog, Daisy. She's a thirteen year old golden retriever. Getting a good cuddle in with her is some of the best stress relief around.

Naturally, as a Language Arts teacher, I read A LOT! My favorite author is Jane Austen, with Pride and Prejudice ranking as my favorite book of all time. My other readings vary greatly, with favorites including the Harry Potter series, The Kite Runner, A Tale of Two Cities, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the essays of David Sedaris, and classic children's literature (L.M. Montgomery, Francis Hodgson Burnett, Louisa May Alcott, and Beatrix Potter to name a few).  I also have a not so secret liking for trashy romance novels. It's my form of escapism.

I also love to travel, love taking pictures (particularly of flowers), and I love the possibilities presented by a new path.
