The list of tools below is not intended to be a checklist that all students need to be exposed to, rather it is a list of options to get you to start thinking of media as an essential part of the story/paper rather than an optional piece to add.

Click Login and choose Google Account. WeVideo is an online video editor that connects to Google Drive. You will be able to edit and tweak your project with videos, photos, titles, transitions and audio. All of this is done online and can be saved right back to Google Drive to share with your audience. This WeVideo was posted at school and shared with parents and family to showcase the students first writing piece.

How To Videos Google Literature Trips help show interesting geographical locations and paths traveled by people or fictional characters. This Google Map shows one of the routes traveled by Christopher Columbus. In addition, placemarks are available that can allow you to add text, links, images, video throughout a route. This can enhance a writing piece by breaking it up by geographical location, helping the reader visualize the journey.

How To Documents A blog can be used where you respond to a teacher prompt, or you can create your own posts. Posts can highlight writing pieces, book reviews.... A nice feature of blogs is its ability to have comments that are threaded.
Google Sites allows students to create a personalized site showcasing their work in one or many subjects. This tool allows them to easily add media elements (example shown: embedded videos of themselves showcasing their science fair experiment) to support their work. These also have been used for Student Led Conferences
