Many variations exist in the instructional rounds model. Our model provides at half day of professional development to each teacher who wishes to participate. Those teachers meet for a 30 minutes preparatory conversation, then travel to the classrooms of 4 colleagues in varying disciplines lifting out practices working well for students in positive, non-evaluative language. The visiting group then meets to debrief the experience. Here is a sample packet each participant would get which details the agenda and captures the note-taking tool as well as the reflective experience.
