After Prom FAQ

• Who can attend After Prom?

Any Junior or Senior can buy tickets for After Prom -- they do NOT need to have gone to Prom in order to attend After Prom.  

Juniors and Seniors may invite underclassmen and/or non-AHS students as their date. Rules will be provided when buying tickets.

• What type of entertainment is at After Prom?

While each year offers unique experiences based on budget and theme, attendees can expect to be wowed by our entertainment options.

Past events have included Inflatables, henna artists, face painters, hypnotists, yard games, chair massages, booster club games, and so much more!

• When is After Prom?

NEW THIS YEAR! We have listened to students' and parent feedback and are packing all the After Prom fun into a more compact experience.

2026 After Prom is Saturday May 9th, 11PM -2:30AM

11PM: DOORS OPEN line starts at the Event Entrance, get here early 

MIDNIGHT: ALL GUESTS MUST BE CHECKED IN doors will be closed at this time so don't be late!

All guests are required to stay at AHS the entire party, no exceptions

2:30AM: AFTER PROM ends with our Grand Prize Drawing for thousands of dollars' worth of prizes -- now every guest will be eligible to win!

(Parent Volunteers are asked to stay after closing to immediately clean up the school)

• Why do ALL parents need to help when After Party is only for upperclassmen?

This is a great way for ALL parents to learn After Prom traditions, meet other involved parents, and get a glimpse of what your student will experience in May (trust us, the transformation is truly remarkable!) 

Freshman/Sophomore Parents: We get it. It doesn't seem like you get much ROI for your time and energy volunteering. Some Juniors and Seniors will be cool with seeing their Mom & Dad at After Prom, and some attendees appreciate a parent-free night. The kindness of underclassman families to be Hall Ambassadors and party chaperones is paid forward year after year. 

Junior Parents: Have you waited because your child couldn't attend until now? Jump in to help us create an epic night for your child's first After Prom.

Senior Parents: After Prom is the last big social event of your child's pre-college/work life. If you want to take the night off, you have absolutely earned it! or if you want one last hurrah with our PTO there will be lots of Volunteer Events to work behind the scenes and Casino Dealer spots to fill. Every year there is also a Senior Hallway at After Prom; decorated with parent-created collages of Senior graduates. More information for Senior parents will come out in the Spring -- you won't want to miss out on this heartwarming goodbye to AHS.

• How much does After Prom cost?

Tickets to After Prom are $30 a piece. 

The cost of tickets allows the PTO to book local artists and entertainers for the party, transform the hallways with exceptional themed decor, serve refreshments & snacks, and cover the event costs for supplies & materials. 

It is important to the PTO that every student is able to attend. If any Junior/Senior is unable to afford a ticket there are scholarships available, email arapahoeafterprom.lps@gmail.com to learn more.

The success of Arapahoe After Prom has always been our amazing community and parent support of the event.

• How can I help?

After Prom is a fun night to volunteer at the school, but we also have hundreds of tasks to perform before, during, and after the big night.

Jobs are diverse and can be tailored to your availability and talents -- we will have things to do in groups, individually, at the school or even on your own time at home. If you have a will, we have a way...

• Are you Artistic? 

There will be lots of posters, props, and hallway decor to create to completely transform AHS. Even if you can't draw a stick figure, we have tons of paper cutting, folding, gluing, and of course thousands of balloons to blow up! Come to one or all of our upcoming Art Nights every Wednesday starting 2/18. 

• Are you a Social Butterfly? 

Getting fellow parents to the party is clutch.  We also need help selling After Prom tickets, promoting volunteer events, and liaisons to welcome AHS booster club participants. A Hall Ambassador or Casino Dealer are perfect roles for those with the gift of gab!

• Are you a Dad with a Ladder? 

Setting up After Prom requires hanging backdrops, moving furniture, and running extension cords. Grab your buddies with trucks/trailers to help with stored inventory and hauling refreshments into the school. Pizza party for everyone who helps setup the halls the night before!

• Are you a Hustler? 

Giving away thousands of dollars in prizes requires community outreach, donor asks, and potential corporate sponsors. Join our Prize Committee to get the goods that grow our Prize Pool!

• Are you into Teardown and not Setup?  

After Prom clean-up is crucial to AHS getting back to business on Monday. Volunteers will start cleanup while the Drawings are happening and work into a few wee hours to get the halls cleared.

If you absolutely cannot volunteer a few hours of your time please support us with Prizes, gift cards , Amazon Registry, or a cash donation to AHS PTO (mention After Prom in the comments).
