Sources of Strength
In addition to In Focus, we will be using Sources of Strength to support students in their social and emotional learning.
Sources of Strength aims to prevent adverse outcomes by increasing well-being, help-seeking, resiliency, healthy coping, and belonging. The model of Sources focuses on multiple sources of support, or protective factors, for young people so that when times get hard, they have strengths to rely on.
Using the Zones
Encourage students to use their Owl Brain (using their pre-frontal cortex) vs their lizard brain (reacting before thinking).
Asking students: how do we get back to the green zone?
