Mrs. Mary Beth Sebring

Meet Mrs. Sebring

Hello, and welcome to Dewar Elementary School! My name is Mrs. Mary Beth Sebring, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to fulfill a new role for this 2018-2019 school year as the Instructional Coach. It is going to be a fun-filled year with many learning opportunities and new adventures, and I cannot wait to see the growth accrued in both teachers and students. I look forward to working with you, and with your help and support, I know we will have a successful school year!

Educational & Teaching Background

I graduated from Valdosta State University with my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education in 2008 and my Master's degree in 2014. I am currently enrolled at Valdosta State University in pursuit of obtaining my Specialist's degree in Teacher Leadership and Educational Leadership. I plan to graduate December 2018.

I believe it is vital for educators to be lifelong learners, so they can stay abreast on the latest educational trends to effectively implement researched-based strategies, assessment techniques, and assistive technology devices within their classrooms.

I am currently beginning my eleventh year of teaching. I have taught third-grade for eight years in Valdosta City Schools and one year at Dewar Elementary. Last year, I was an Early Intervention Program (EIP) Specialist, working with students in third grade and implementing researched-based strategies to bring them up to grade level expectations.

Family Life

I have been happily married for the last seven and a half years to a wonderful man, Jason Sebring, who works as a contractor out on Moody Air Force Base. Together, we have a beautiful daughter, Meredith, who just recently turned three. She is our world, and we enjoy spending time with our family, traveling, shopping, reading, baking, attending sporting events, and playing outdoors.
