Mrs. Sebring

Meet Mrs. Sebring

Hello, and welcome to Dewar Elementary School! My name is Mrs. Mary Beth Sebring, and I am thrilled to take on a new position this year, teaching third-grade EIP Math and Reading, as well as being an Academic Coach. It is going to be a fun-filled year with many learning opportunities and new adventures, and I cannot wait to see what this 2017-2018 school year has in store for us. I look forward to working with you, and with your help and support, I know we will have a successful school year! Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to teach your student; I feel truly privileged.

Educational & Teaching Background

I graduated from Valdosta State University with my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education in 2008 and my Master's degree in 2014.

I believe it is vital for educators to be lifelong learners, so they can effectively implement the latest researched-based strategies, assessment techniques, and assistive technology devices within their classrooms. Because of my philosophy, I am currently enrolled at Valdosta State University in pursuit of obtaining my Specialist's degree in Teacher Leadership and Ed. Leadership.

I am currently beginning my tenth year of teaching. I have had the opportunity to teach third-grade for eight years in Valdosta City Schools, and I feel blessed to have taught third-grade one year at Dewar Elementary.

Family Life

I have been happily married for the last six and a half years to a wonderful man, Jason Sebring, who works as a contractor out on Moody Air Force Base. Together, we have a beautiful daughter, Meredith Shannon, who just recently turned two. We enjoy spending time with our family, traveling, shopping, reading, baking, and playing outdoors.
