COURSE OBJECTIVES: The students will demonstrate competency in motor skills and movement patterns to perform a variety of physical activities; understand movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to learning and performing physical skills; participate regularly in physical activity; achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness; exhibit responsible personal and social behavior with respect to self and others; value physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and/or social interaction.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS: The students will be required to dress in suitable athletic attire that is not worn to school and to participate in all planned daily activities. No flip-flops or bare feet! Students cannot participate unless dressed out. Only doctor’s notes will be accepted for illness or injury unless cleared by administration. Medical conditions requiring special consideration must be cleared by administration and documented by the guidance office.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: The students will participate daily in a variety of team and dual sports including flag football, soccer, basketball, softball, and Archery.

GRADING PROCEDURES: 85% - Weekly Grade – Dress/Participation; 15% - Final Exam

Grades will be posted weekly on Infinite Campus which parents may access through the Parent Portal . To sign up, parents should contact their student’s guidance counselor. LHS will issue progress reports each three week grading period. Report cards will be issued at the end of 9 weeks and 18 weeks.

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS: All students are expected to follow ALL the rules and guidelines in the Lowndes Co Schools Student & Parent Handbook. This includes no offensive language, gestures, symbols, etc; no tobacco; reporting to class on time; being respectful, honest, and behaving appropriately; no cussing, sassing, or intentionally arguing with teacher; dressing out and participating daily; being respectful and courteous of teachers, students, and support staff; and doing the right thing!
