COURSE NAME & NUMBER: Weight Training – 36.0650010-2

COURSE OBJECTIVE: The students will gain knowledge and understanding relevant to strength and conditioning; establish individual goals for health related components of fitness; learn the benefits of a sound strength and conditioning protocol and its contribution to athletic performance; and gain understanding of the proper implementation, form, and technique of strength and conditioning techniques.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS: The students will be required to dress in suitable athletic attire that is not worn to school and to participate in all planned daily activities. Proper footwear is required. No flip-flops, NO BARE FEET!
COURSE DESCRIPTION: The students will participate daily in a periodized strength and conditioning protocol, speed and agility, plyometric, and cardiovascular activities. Including;
Power Cleans Squat Bench Press
Snatch Squat variations push ups
Pull ups Dips Abdominal Exercises
Sprinting Speed Drills Body weight exercises
GRADING PROCEDURES: 80% Daily Grade-Dress Out/Participation
20% Final Exam
Reports cards will be issued at the end of 9 weeks and 18 weeks. Parents may access grades through Infinite Campus Parent Portal. To sign up to ICPP, parents should contact student’s guidance counselor.
ATTENDANCE: If a students loses credit due to attendance a failing grade will stand as earned on the transcript.
DISCIPLINE: All Lowndes High School Rules and Regulations will be strictly enforced.
