The Lower Kiski Water Rescue team is an all-hazards water team with capacities in River and Lake Rescue, Swiftwater rescue, Public Safety Dive Team, and Flood Evacuation. The Team is fully volunteer and are trained through the PA Fish and Boat Commission swift water training program and our divers through Dive Rescue International Public Safety Dive training. The Team is self-funding and spends a lot of effort on Grants, donations and fund-raising events.
We are an active response partner in the DHS Region 13 Water Response Program and responses all over Western Pennsylvania and beyond upon request. We have grown to depend tremendously on Technology including the use of Sides Scan Sonar, our Underwater ROV, and our Aerial Drone to assist with our missions.
We completed our Voluntary Rescue Recognition (VRSR) Certification within the State of Pennsylvania as a Type 2A Swiftwater Certified Response Team and are now certified through to 9/30/2027.
