Advisory

What is Advisory?

Advisory is your homeroom for the year. You will begin each day in Advisory by Zooming with Mrs. Hoffman at 7:55am. Our main focus will be to build relationships and a sense of community. We will focus our time together around the core values of the Freshman Academy: responsibility, integrity, determination, engagement, and respect. As your Advisory teacher, Mrs. Hoffman will be your advisor throughout your freshman year. Your advisor will help with academics, scheduling, and engagement at Lowell High School.

In Advisory our time will be spent on:

• Getting to know one another; building an Advisory community

• Tracking and troubleshooting academic performance

• Examining course offerings and planning schedules

• Sharing information about LHS clubs and sports

• Participating in cluster and house competitions

• Reviewing LHS news and announcements

• Discussing issues in the news, school issues, and other topics
