February/March assessments and Events

Each February or March Loveland High School offers students the opportunity to further their preparation for Career and College Readiness through various activities and assessments.  Student experiences vary based upon their current grade level and the date varies from year to year. The following activities will take place on February 27, 2024.

Seniors

Our Seniors participate in a career mentoring activity that takes place at an off site location. Loveland High School partners with the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce in a "Speed Mentoring" activity. Speed Mentoring is a fun and fast-paced event at which volunteers from the business community meet with small groups of students to talk about their work experiences and students' plans for the future.

Small groups of 7-10 students meet with several volunteer mentors during a fast-paced event to explore various career paths and job responsibilities.  Mentors share their own experiences in the workplace along with information on their employer and work readiness skills. Every 7 minutes a new group of students will come to each mentor's table.

Juniors

Our Juniors will take the ACT test which is an official assessment that can be used for college admissions considerations. The ACT is offered as part of the state-funded testing requirements. Students do not need to register for the test and there is no fee to take the test. The Writing portion is not included in this administration. Students may elect to have their scores sent to the college or colleges of their choice. Four score reports are included if indicated in the preregistration process (done at LHS prior to test date). Students may opt to access their scores online and have them sent at any time after scores are available. There is a fee to have them sent if not indicated in the preregistration process. The test will be administered at Loveland High School. For more information on the ACT, please see this link

Scores for the LHS administration of the ACT are typically available 6-8 weeks following test day. Scores are accessed online through the ACT website.

Sophomores

Our Sophomores will take a PreACT test which is used as a predictor for ACT results and offers insights into ways for increasing success on college readiness assessments. Students do not need to register for the test and there is no fee to take the test. The test will be administered at Loveland High School. For more information on the PreACT, please see this link

Freshmen

Our Freshmen participate in a job shadowing experience.
