Graduation Day Summary Info and Key Details
An "All Call" phone call will be made in the next day or so with the following information:
Hello Seniors and Families! Here are some important reminders for the graduation ceremony taking place on Saturday, May 23.
Graduation times have been assigned by last name. The schedule can be found on the Graduation website (see below). Please adhere to your scheduled time and do not arrive early.
Each graduate may have a maximum number of 6 guests. The graduate is not included in this count.
Graduates and families will wait in line in their cars. It is important that all cars in your party arrive at the same time. Please enter at the light.
Masks will be required. Please bring your own.
There will be a professional photographer taking pictures of the graduate. Any family photos should be taken prior to arriving at LHS. There will not be an opportunity to do so at the ceremony.
Graduates will be required to return their rental gown immediately after their ceremony. They will keep their cap and tassel.
Graduates should bring their diploma cover and any cords they have earned to the ceremony. We will not provide either should they forget.
For a summary of this message and for more in depth information, please refer to the Graduation website (you're already there!) found on the LHS website in the Class of 2020 link.
Thank you! We are looking forward to a very memorable day celebrating the Class of 2020!
The Ohio Department of Education has outlined very specific guidelines to be used while planning our "Single Family In-Person" graduation ceremony. We must adhere to the following:
Families are called into the auditorium one-by-one.
No more than 10 people total, including school personnel, in any one space. We must limit the number of family members for each graduate to SIX (this is a change from the original four allowed). The graduate is NOT included in this count, so in total, there can be up to seven per family group.
Strict parking management and regulation is needed to prevent congregating in parking lots and outdoor locations.
Time will be by "appointment" only to ensure a smooth process for all. Graduates are assigned a time period, which serves as their "appointment", to arrive (see below). Please do not arrive early.
All health and safety protocols must be followed, including all family members and the graduate must wear a mask. Participants will NOT be allowed in the building without a mask.
The entire graduation "ceremony" will be video recorded and shared once the final production is complete, allowing all graduates to see each other's special moment
Graduation speeches by school officials and student speakers will be recorded prior to the "ceremony" (if you are a speaker, you will be contacted with details)
Graduation musical performances will be recorded prior to the "ceremony" (if you are a performer, you will be contacted with details)
Graduates will be assigned an "appointment" time based upon first letter of last name - see below for the schedule
Graduates and their families will arrive at LHS during their designated appointment time - please do not arrive early
Graduates and their families will be directed where to line up and where to park as they wait their turn
Graduates and their families will remain in their car until directed by an LHS staff member to enter the building
Once in the building, graduates and their families will be directed by LHS staff where to go to wait their turn
One graduate and his/her family will enter the auditorium at a time
The stage will be set up to resemble our traditional graduation ceremony
The family members will stand in the pit area of the auditorium just in front of the stage
The graduate will go up on the stage
The graduate will have his/her name read by their School Counselor as they walk across the stage
Graduates and their families will exit the auditorium through a side door that will lead them to the cafeteria
Once in the cafeteria, graduates will receive their diploma and return their rental graduation gown
Any items or materials distributed to graduates will be sanitized and quarantined for at least 72 hours prior to distribution
There will be a Lifetouch professional photographer there to capture the special moment
Graduates and their families will exit the cafeteria through a side entrance to return to their car
Once in your car, please exit the parking lot as soon as possible to allow for the next graduate to get ready
Graduation is a very special event and we wish graduates could include all family members and friends in the ceremony. Unfortunately, in order to adhere to the "no more than 10 people total, including school personnel" guideline we must limit the number of family members for each graduate to SIX (this is a change from the original four). The graduate is NOT included in this count, so in total, there can be up to seven per family group.
Graduation "appointments" have been assigned alphabetically by graduate last name. Please help us ensure the health and safety of all our graduates and their families by adhering to the following schedule:
